Position Summary: Primarily responsible for preparing, receiving, and shipping products. This position also includes assisting the shipping manager with keeping accurate inventory and keeping shipping area clean.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Record shipment information to the ship log for Invoicing and Customer Service.
Repackage material that may be damaged or returned.
Call trucking companies and schedule pick-ups.
Cleaning work area (sweeping, gathering cardboard and trash, taking out trash, etc.).
Prepare customer orders and warehouse transfers for shipment including all appropriate paperwork and labeling.
Take physical inventories and cycle counts.
Receive finished goods from production, which includes; weighing each panel, inspecting each panel, verifying production totals, etc.
Certify each batch when ready into the computer system, which includes; counting material received, recording information, inputting information, etc.
Receive deliveries of returned or transferred material.
Transfer material received by forklift to bins and record the locations into the computer system.
Forklift Certification a benefit but not required
Essential Skills and Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of management.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.
Computer and keyboarding proficiency.
Ability to lift 55-70 lbs.
